Colleen owns and runs her own business called “Wellness” which specialises in HIV/AIDS, EWP (Employee Wellness Programmes) and Corporate Wellness Programmes. Colleen sits on a number of boards in an advisory capacity with regards to Health, Wellness, HIV/AIDS, Employee Wellness Programmes as well as for training and development.
Colleen has studied medicine and completed the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Arts
- Higher Education (specialising in counselling)
- Honours and Masters in Psychology (Stress and
- HIV/AIDS research)
- Diploma in Business Management
- Masters in Special Needs
- Masters in Industrial Psychology (Impact of HIV/AIDS
- on the organisation & organisational behaviour)
- Currently completing her Doctorate in Psychology
- (research is on “The efficacy of an Integrated EWP and Wellness Programme on Behaviour, Performance and Attendance”)
Colleen was the only South African to be invited by the International Board for Employee Wellness to present her research at the Annual World EAP Conference in Atlanta in October 2008.
Colleen is also a qualified Clinical Nutritionist, and consults to a number of companies regarding their nutritional programmes and supplements. She has completed a book on nutritional supplementation called “The Road to Health” educating readers on the benefits of using vitamins and minerals and which vitamins and minerals to take for what aliment. Colleen has designed and launched her own Vitamin and Mineral Range called “Health IQ” which has some very unique features.
Colleen has presented a number of talks on HIV/AIDS and WELLNESS at various conferences both nationally and internationally. She has also set up and manages one of the most successful Wellness Programmes. Colleen consults to a number of Health Ministers throughout Africa, helping them to set up and manage their Wellness/Nutritional Programmes.
Colleen is the co-founder and co-owner of one of the largest Lifestyle Health Centres “to be established” in Africa. The Centre will be the largest Medical Tourism facility in South Africa, attracting clients from all over the world. Another clinic is to be set up in the Caribbean which Colleen has been requested to manage.
Awards
- International “Who’s Who of Professionals in 2000, 2001 and 2010” awarded from the United States after researching the candidate’s contribution to society and academia. Only five people in South Africa have ever been awarded this honour.
- International “Maddison Who’s Who of Medical Professionals” awarded from the United States.
- “Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century” award from Cambridge International Biographical Centre. At present Colleen is the only one to receive this award to-date in S.A.
- She has also been selected as the Chairperson for Medical Tourism in Natal
