Dr. Mathias Goyen, MD, born in 1969, began his studies at the Medical Schools in Bochum/Germany and Basel/Switzerland in 1991, and graduated with an MD in Medical Science in 1997. He then completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology and worked as an Assistant Professor at the University Hospital Essen. He successfully finished both his Doctorate Thesis (Dr. med.) and Tenure Thesis (Privatdozent). In 2004 Dr. Goyen accepted the position of Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at the University Medical Center Hamburg, where in 2007 he advanced to Director of UKE International and CEO of the UKE Consult and Management GmbH. In 2006 Dr. Goyen received the KlinikAward in the category Manager of the Year, Hospital Marketing. Dr. Goyen’s scientific interests include health care marketing, hospital and process management, medical tourism as well as healthcare consulting. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles, 18 book chapters, 8 books and has given hundreds of presentations.
