Dr. Richard Saint Cyr

Dr. Richard Saint Cyr is an American board-certified family medicine physician with considerable clinical experience both in the U.S. and China. He completed a bachelor’s degree in English at Columbia University (New York) before turning his interests to the medical field. He received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine (USA) and his Family Medicine specialty certification from the University of California, San Francisco program at Sutter Santa Rosa Medical Center.
Dr. Saint Cyr began his medical career at three different California health care providers: 1) the Russian River Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center; 2) the Petaluma Health Center (USA), and 3) St. Joseph’s Urgent Care Clinics (a non-profit group in the U.S.). In February 2007, he moved to Beijing and worked for International SOS Clinic and later at the International Medical Center as a staff physician, with frequent consulting opportunities with the United Nations Development Programme as well as the U.S. Embassy. Dr. Saint Cyr joined Beijing United Family Hospital in May 2011 where continues his family medicine practice, as well as taking a position as Director of Clinical Marketing and Communications for the United Family Healthcare chain of hospitals and clinics in China.
Dr Saint Cyr also has a large media presence in Beijing, and his wellness blog (www.myhealthbeijing.com) is the most popular expat medical Web site in China. He is also the featured health columnist for BeijingKids magazine. He is dedicated to providing international-standard primary care to the expatriate and local communities in Beijing. He has a strong interest in supporting the modernization and education efforts related to China's primary health care system.
Dr. Saint Cyr speaks English and Spanish and is learning Mandarin.
