Dr Tamas Varhelyi graduated as a medical doctor and as a computer programmer, and he has MBA, PhD. CMC. He started his career in the Institute of Biophysics of Univ. Med. School of Debrecen and Patterson Institute, Christie Hospital, UK as a fellow researcher on the fields of transmembrane signaling and oncology. He was deputy state secretary of Ministry of Environment, Hungary and senior manager of KPMG. Now he is a professor of a tourism collage and general manager of Compudoc Plc.
Among his references are strategies and feasibility studies of the most successful spas, wellness hotels and sanatoriums of Hungary (Egerszalok, Gyula, Parád, Héviz, Sopron, and Balatonfured) and also national strategies. He was the first invited expert and speaker from Central-Eastern Europe for the Global Spa Summit. He has published six books and traveled to more than 100 countries. His current focus is on the collaboration between medical wellness and health care.
