Kimberly Smith is the Director of Research at Assurant Health with a primary focus in researching emerging industry & product trends including new products for the global marketplace.  She is additionally the Project lead for Assurant Health’s Medical Travel Initiative.  Kimberly has been with Assurant Health since 2005 and has held several positions in business research, marketing and strategic planning over this time period.  She has over a decade’s experience working in the field of marketing, strategic planning and international opportunity identification and analysis within several industries. 

Kimberly has an MA in International Economics and an MBA from Kent State University as well as a BA in Spanish and Latin American Studies from Indiana University.  Prior to joining Assurant Health, she was employed by GE Insurance Solutions and Superior Essex.  She started her career in academics as an Assistant Professor of Business at the University of St. Francis where she taught graduate and undergraduate business courses for nearly seven years.
