Richard O’Brien is a Vice President with the Global Benefits Practice of Aon Consulting. He is responsible for providing global benefits consulting services to existing clients and sales to new clients, in the Midwest. He joined Aon Consulting in 1998. Mr. O’Brien has over 22 years of experience in the field of international benefits, and a total of 35 years of experience in the employee benefits field, both international and domestic. He has worked with several clients to develop a global benefits philosophy and to create written global benefits guidelines. He has a special expertise in helping clients maximize the financial results from multinational pooling. He handles several large Expatriate/Third Country National accounts. He has worked with several clients on M&A projects. He has a broad knowledge of the competitive practices in many different local country markets. Prior to joining Aon Consulting, he served for nine years as Director of Sales – North America for a multinational pooling network, where he established the North American Office.  Prior to working in International Benefits, Mr. O’Brien worked in the US domestic benefits area for 13 years, dedicated to the sale and service of self-funded medical plans to large multinational corporations.
