Selin Yıldırım Peker is the Executive Vice President and Executive Commitee Member of Dünya Göz Hospitals; the first specialized chain of Eye Hospitals in Turkey, largest ophthalmology hospital in the world and the first and only eye group to receive JCI (Joint Commission International) certificate in Turkey. Mrs.Peker is in charge of investments for the Group and isthe CEO of Dünyagöz Frankfurt Center founded in early 2011.
Born in 1974 in Istanbul, Mrs. Peker received her degree in Tourism & Hotel Management from Bilkent University andcompleted her Masters in Business Administration at Newport University, USA . Between 1993 and 2003, Mrs. Peker assumed different management roles in the tourism sector.
Taking office at Dünyagöz in 2005, Mrs. Peker implemented a unique medical tourism model for the Group that is now used as a case study around the world by healthcare executives. Dünyagöz currently has pre-treatment centers in Amsterdam, Cologne, and London capable to perform all diagnostic services for patients intending to travel for eyecare operations. In relation to this system Mrs. Peker initiated, Dünyagöz today works as a complete service provider to medical tourism patients and offers all-inclusive packages through its Call Center operative in 7 different languages. Mrs. Peker manages a complex network of both central and operational departments within Dünyagöz that receives more than 30.000 foreign patients per year from 170 different countries of the world.
Mrs. Peker received the EMEA award for High Performance in 2003 from Manpower and the Innovation in Medical Tourism award from the MTA in 2011. Certified as a Professional Life Coach and NLP, Mrs. Peker’s vision is to support Turkey to become the pioneering medical tourism destination in the world. She currently gives consulting to companies from different sectors on business development and growth strategies.
Her favourite passtime activities are meeting people from different countries, meditation and yoga. In May 2007, she became mother and has twin girls.
