Quality Medical Management (QMM)
Dr. Arthur Diskin, MD, FACEP, attended college and medical school at the University of Miami. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Los Angeles County Medical Center/University of Southern California. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Diskin is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), Past President of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP), former Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), in Miami, Florida and past Chair of the Section on Cruise Ship and Maritime Medicine of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Diskin has served as a physician on board ships intermittently since the 1980’s and was a consultant to Carnival Cruise Lines from 1990-2008 and their Medical Director through 2008 when he joined Royal Caribbean where he served as CMO from 2008-16.. In this role, he was responsible for recruiting, retaining and reviewing the credentials of the ship’s physicians and nurses, determining which medications and equipment to stock, developing medical evacuation and disaster management policies and advising the ships’ physicians as needed. He was also responsible for the clinical management of crew medical care on the ships and in their home countries, developing worldwide networks for the delivery of medical care, management of the CareTeam, the Crew Wellness program, and all Public Health related issues including Norovirus and Legionella prevention and mitigation.
In his current role with QMM, he provides risk and claims management services to emergency physicians and is developing an insurance company (RRG) for senior care facilities. He manages two emergency departments in Naples, Florida and is clinically active there and at Jackson Memorial. Dr. Diskin is developing technology to combat Legionella shoreside and in the maritime environment and maintaining his worldwide contacts in the medical and public health professions for an exciting future endeavor.
