Joint Commission International
Gia Riney leads Joint Commission International’s global marketing efforts. As Associate Director, International Marketing, she is responsible for the development and execution of JCI’s brand strategy across five regions and more than 60 countries.
Ms. Riney is a seasoned brand and marketing strategist with more than a decade of experience and a rich international perspective. Her diverse background comes from having worked in the health care, financial services, social services, and publishing sectors with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in Mexico, Japan, and the United States.
She specializes in business-to-business (B2B) relations and works extensively in offline, online, and live in-person marketing and communications. In her leadership role, she also informs and supports the U.S. marketing initiatives of Joint Commission Resources, a wholly controlled not-for-profit affiliate of The Joint Commission.
Ms. Riney earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with minors in Spanish and Biology from Middle Tennessee State University (United States).
Ms. Riney has led and nurtured the development of JCI’s patient-facing marketing initiative, WorldHospitalSearch.org. JCI provides leadership in international health care accreditation and quality improvement. With WorldHospitalSearch.org, JCI steps firmly into the patient arena. Ms. Riney explains, “We aim to help our more than 800 accredited health care organizations effectively communicate the value of the Gold Seal of Approval® for the benefit of both the patient public and JCI-accredited hospitals around the world.”
WorldHospitalSearch.org is a website that educates the public on the benefits of seeking out a JCI-accredited hospital for health care treatment.
