A Pioneer of Medical Tourism from the former Soviet Union, Lily Leshchova was the first parent who has brought her daughter for medical treatment to the United States from the former Soviet Union. Her daughter has a Cerebral Palsy. Lily sought for help everywhere she could in the former Soviet Union with no results. Lily started to seek help outside of the Soviet Union. After contacting multiple medical clinics in the United States, Lily’s daughter was accepted for the medical treatment to the Children’s Hospital in Florida.
Ever since Lily brought her daughter for the treatment to the United States, her passion became to helping the others. Lily knows what it’s like to be away from home and unable to speak the language when you are in another country.
Last year Lily has graduated with Masters in Public Health. Lily has written a publishing article on her Internship project with concentration on Pediatric Medical Tourism in the Caribbean and Latin America; however, Lily is looking to expand her concentration to the overseas in future.
